High School Counsellor (0.6 FTE)

**About the position**:
**Role and Responsibilities**:
Collaborate in planning and facilitating the school counselling program including teaching and supporting students’ social and emotional learning (SEL)

Fostering genuine and supportive relationships with members of the school community that promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and care

Provide teaching sessions to students, parents and teachers to support the emotional well-being of our school community in large and small group or individual sessions

Maintaining appropriate documentation and record keeping while ensuring professional boundaries and confidentiality

Support the overall well-being of all students through involvement in the school’s co-curricular programs

Be available outside the normal school day to respond to emergencies as necessary

Thorough understanding of best practices in secondary education

Commitment to ensuring high standards of care and professional practice

Ability to inspire others through collaboration and team-building

Strong management skills, including the ability to prioritize and delegate

Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

Knowledge of Independent Schools is an asset

**Requirements for the position**:
Graduate Level training in Counselling Psychology or equivalent training or program

At least 2 years’ experience working with adolescents

Teacher training and certification is preferred
