**Shift Requirement**: Must be flexible to work days and afternoons/evenings.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate manual lathes to machine components to exact specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, templates, and specification manuals to plan machining operations.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances, lay out workpieces, and verify accuracy using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train in complementary skills to support production requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
- Adhere to company policies, including proactive risk management and Just Culture principles.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in manual machining.
- Red Seal Machinist certification is highly preferred.
- High mechanical aptitude with strong precision and accuracy.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent education and training. Preferably 3rd level apprentice.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, metallurgy, and production management systems.
