Accounting Technician

**The Role**:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Accounting Technician**to join our rapidly growing team. The Accounting Technician reports directly to the Controller. The incumbent will serve as a key member within the finance department.

The Accounting Technician **duties** will include, but are not limited to:

- Perform general accounting duties relating to accounts payable/receivable, intra-company, and treasury transactions.
- Monthly reconciliation of bank account and credit cards.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
- Prepare year-end audit schedule.
- Filing of monthly HST/GST.
- Filing of quarterly WSIB.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation between the inventory subledger and general ledger.
- Manage and collect on outstanding account receivables (i.e. reaching out to past due accounts and monitoring higher-risk customers, etc.).
- Consolidate and analyze financial data (budget, forecast, actual).
- Provide variance analysis on a monthly/quarterly basis as required.
- Identify trends and recommend actions based on sound analysis.
- Provide support in management decision making by generating reports and advising on financial status.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including recording transactions and preparing accounts reconciliations.
- Support with preparation for internal and external financial audits.
- Maintain internal reports on key performance indicators (KPI’s).
- Assisting with month end/year end activities (i.e. depreciation entries, manual journal entries, inventory counts, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned and required by the Company.

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Minimum 2 years of solid experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.
- Previous experience working in production accounting is preferred.
- Strong technical abilities/skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
- Previous working knowledge of SAP, Sage50 or comparable system.
- High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a positive, proactive customer service mindset.

Pay: $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
