**Activity Planning and Implementation**:

- Plan and lead a variety of age-appropriate games and craft activities.
- Prepare all necessary materials and set up for each session.
- Adapt activities to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of a diverse group of children, including neurodivergent students.

**Supervision and Safety**:

- Supervise students during activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that accommodates children of all abilities.
- Address and de-escalate behavioral challenges effectively, utilizing proven intervention techniques.

**Engagement and Encouragement**:

- Encourage students to participate actively and creatively in all activities.
- Support and guide students in developing new skills through games and crafts.
- Provide positive feedback and reinforcement to boost confidence and enjoyment, ensuring each child feels valued.

**Communication**:

- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and the After-School Program Coordinator about student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Report any incidents or observations related to student well-being promptly to the After-School Program Coordinator.

**Classroom Management**:

- Ensure the activity area is clean and organized before and after sessions.
- Properly store materials and supplies after use.
- Monitor the condition of equipment and materials, reporting any damage or needed replacements to the coordinator.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting.
- Background in arts and crafts, sports, or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with neurodivergent children and behavior intervention strategies is highly desired.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire children of all abilities through creative and structured activities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a sensitivity to the needs of neurodivergent children.
- Ability to manage groups of children effectively and safely, including those with diverse behavioral needs.

**Certifications**:

- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Criminal Records Check.
- Responsible Adult certificate.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position may require working during late afternoons and early evenings.
- Activities will take place primarily indoors, though outdoor activities may be included depending on the program.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Experience with children: 1 year (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Responsible Adult Certificate or similar (required)

**Location**:

- Vancouver, BC V5W 2Z4 (preferred)
