The role
Shaw Communications' Supply Chain department in Edmonton is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. This position reports directly to the Manager, NDC Operations and Repair.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is a 12 month contract role with potential to become permanent. We offer excellent benefits, full time hours, and opportunity for career advancement
A typical day
Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage recalls and delivery issues
- Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to SOP and KPI’s as agreed upon.
- Meet quality objectives by establishing requirements; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Liaise with repair depots, equipment manufacturers and Shaw engineering to establish quality improvement and failure trends
- Investigate any quality concerns and carry out disposition.
- Investigate field reported issues and analyze failure trends.
- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage product recall.
- Facilitate the sustainment of Lean to improve SC management continuously.
- Prepare, review, implement and improve procedures and processes across the organization to align with corporate initiatives and strategies.
- Implement quality standards and best practice as required.
- Work with new product introduction team.
- Provide leadership to all staff as related to quality practices and requirements.
- Provide project management support and leadership related to quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with multiple internal disciplines and external product, process and program teams to represent compliance requirements.
- Create and lead training initiatives specific to quality.
- Lead multi-disciplinary projects to support corporate initiatives.
- Other quality duties as required.

Your skills/experience
- Maintain effective communication with all departments to ensure the highest level of customer service
- Minimum Grade 12 completion or equivalent of relevant work experience
- Critical thinking ability; and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding and using lean tools and processes.
- Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required
- Ability to self-motivate, multi-task, and prioritize work
