**Heavy Equipment Technician**

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing designs and manufactures specialized heavy equipment attachments for the construction, forestry, mining, scrap recycling, road maintenance and resource industries throughout Canada, the USA and internationally. Weldco-Beales is currently recruiting a Heavy Equipment technician for the Edmonton manufacturing team on the day shift. This position will report to the General Foreman.

**What you will do**:

- Interpret work orders and technical manuals
- Check heavy equipment, mobile cranes, and other heavy construction, logging and mining equipment for proper performance and to detect faults and malfunctions
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Service and assemble attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, tire manipulators, grapples, etc.
- Perform repair work on heavy trucks if necessary
- Attach components
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair existing hydraulic systems
- Assemble, install, and commission new hydraulic systems
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems

**Your qualifications**:

- Alberta Journeyman Ticket in Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Directly related experience in a manufacturing facility or with heavy attachments is an asset

**What you bring to the position**:

- Previous experience with heavy equipment is an asset
- Previous experience with mobile cranes is an asset
- Good knowledge of all heavy equipment and power tools and their use and care
- Analytical skills to identify simple problems and find a solution
- Mechanically inclined
- Physically fit to perform work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Strong safety performance
