**THE OPPORTUNITY**

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a permanent full-time opportunity as a **Collaboration and Innovation Technologies Specialist**. This is 12-month position to commence as soon as possible.

The **Collaboration and Innovation Technologies Specialist** will be responsible for designing and implementing processes and technical requirements for the Board’s Innovation Lab, a cutting edge production studio.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, **Collaboration and Innovation Technologies Specialist** works to ensure the smooth operation of the Lab and provides administrative and technical support on special projects. This position provides a wide range of services and direct support to users of the lab to ensure its effective and efficient use. This includes the timely maintenance and support of computer, digital hardware / software and audiovisual equipment, and technical support, consultation, tours, and training.

This position requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, a customer service-oriented approach and the ability to create innovative technical processes, and solutions in anticipation of trends.

**LOCATION**: Grant Evans Education Centre (40 Amelia St, Orangeville, ON)

**HOURLY RATE**: Base Hourly rate: $30.61 - $37.51 per hour; wage rate effective September 1, 2024

*Labour market adjustment of 25% to be applied to base hourly pay rate; hourly pay rate inclusive of the market adjustment is $38.26 - $46.89 per hour
- Labour market adjustment may fluctuate based on local market

**FTE/HOURS**:1.0 FTE (35 hours per week)

**BOARD INFORMATION**:12 months position; Permanent; full-time; OCT Union

**Responsibilities**:

- Researches and orders specific audio visual, digital hardware / software and required subscriptions necessary for the successful operation of the Innovation Lab.
- Sets up, configures, tests, and maintains Lab Innovation equipment to support Board administrative needs, meetings, and special events; delivers and installs equipment when required.
- Monitors and maintains the operational processes and equipment of the Innovation Lab.
- Liaises with various Board departments and key stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective use of the Innovation Lab.
- Guides and advises users of the Innovation Lab; provides technical support to Lab users on an ongoing basis.
- Leads tours when required.
- Partners with Digital Support Services team to provide Lab updates and ensure network and software requirements are continually in place.
- Designs, implements, and maintains Crestron room conferencing hardware / software across the Board.
- Creates audio and video templates and podcasts for internal departments; coordinates video editing and field recording with Board’s co-op students.
- Operates and maintains digital signage at Board offices and sites.
- Provides technical support and maintenance to audio visual equipment in meeting rooms at Board’s GEEC Office.
- Actively participates at meetings relevant to the planning and operation of the Innovation Lab.
- Ensures Board Committee Meetings and Board Meetings are live streamed when required.
- Maintains and oversees Board’s Vimeo site that hosts all public facing videos.
- Attends trade shows and industry events to promote the Board’s Innovation Lab.
- Assists with Executive Committee event product and planning.
- Performs other duties as assigned to grow and develop as a professional.
- Additional hours may be required beyond the regular scheduled hours in support of UGDSB innovative technology and special events; early mornings or evenings may be required.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Post Secondary Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Analyst, Audio Visual Technology, Information Technology, or another related field; or a combination of education and / or experience deemed equivalent by the Board.
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years direct work experience; prior experience in a public sector or academic
