**The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for Part Time Seasonal Security Guard Team Leaders.**
**OVERVIEW**:
The **SECURITY TEAM LEAD** position will be composed of security guards who continually demonstrate our “WE CARE” Service Standards, have enhanced security experience, are very knowledgeable about the stadium and have received additional training to respond to areas where potential or actual problems might develop or have developed. They report directly to their immediate security supervisor and are there to provide additional support to the supervisor and security staff. Their area of responsibility is usually in the entrance gates, seating areas, concourses, ramps and in some instances on the Rogers property immediately outside the stadium.
The Toronto Blue Jays Security Department is looking for Security Guard Team Leads who have a willingness to assist fans in a polite, friendly manner, and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
The incumbent will ensure a safe and friendly atmosphere for all guests and employees and provide a controlling influence at all entrances to Rogers Centre and throughout the facility.
Applicants must be available to work 80% of all Toronto Blue Jays regular season scheduled home games including evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
This is a part-time contract position from December to November with the possibility of extension.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Follow the direction of the immediate security supervisor and keep them informed of all incidents that come to your attention.
- When a Security Supervisor is not available, request the attendance of ANY available Supervisor when a situation develops where a fan or fans may be ejected. The Security Team Lead member SHALL NOT make the ejection on their own authority.
- When assigned to gate duties, provide support and guidance to the gate security guards and monitor the condition and behavior of fans entering or exiting the building. Keep Supervisors apprised of any congestion that could delay or prevent fans from entering the building in a timely manner.
- Being aware of any problems outside your assigned gate and notifying your Security Supervisor of your observations.
- Monitor the condition and behavior of fans and respond to any radio call where your assistance may be required.
- When assigned to outside duties, monitor the activities of Scalpers, Unauthorized Vendors, illegal parking the unusual condition or behavior of fans and take action as per your instructions and notify your Security Supervisors of the situation.
- Must adhere to ALL Public Health protocols.
- Being certain that each fan is greeted with a warm smile and a friendly “Good afternoon/evening” or other appropriate phrase.
- If required, assist in performing enhanced security screening inspections using walk through metal detection (WTMD) and hand wands (HW) at public entrances as required.
- Ensuring all public areas of Rogers Centre are properly maintained, free of hazards and safe for guests and staff alike.
- Submit detailed reports on an Incident Report Card for all minor or major incidents and submitting them to a supervisor.
- Have complete understanding of Rogers Centre policies and emergency procedures.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Work closely with our emergency services, Toronto Fire Service, Toronto Police Service and Medical Service personnel.
- Actively engage in alcohol management, crowd management, fan code of conduct compliance and general guest behaviour during events to ensure the overall safety of our guest and staff. When necessary, de-escalating confrontational situations.
- Demonstrate good judgment, common sense and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other situations.
- Ensuring that all general duties assigned are completed before being released by a supervisor.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- **Currently licensed as a Security Guard in accordance with the PSIS Act and to be in good standing.**:
- **Must have their valid Smart Serve Certification.**:
- Minimum 2 years in a security role.
