**About the role**

We’re looking for an **Accounting & Payroll Specialist**to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll process payroll for our Canadian and US employees with accuracy and compliance, while also supporting accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on detail, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to contribute to a high-performing Finance team.

**What you’ll do**
- Manage full-cycle payroll for Canadian and US employees, including data entry, updates, calculations, and remittances.
- Prepare payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and year-end tasks (T4s, W2s, payroll tax, workers’ compensation).
- Respond to payroll-related questions and keep employees informed of updates.
- Prepare and enter customer, vendor, and affiliate transactions.
- Maintain journal entries and reconciliations to support month-end close.
- Provide reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc support to the CFO.
- Prepare financial statements and reports (balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Maintain accounting procedures and controls, analyzing budgets and expenditures as needed.

**What we’re looking for**
- Post-secondary education in commerce, business, or related field; Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset.
- 3+ years of full-cycle payroll experience in Canada and the US.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now (preferred) and Oracle NetSuite.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial data flows.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
- Experience with BambooHR is an asset but not required.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate.
- Excellent communication skills—clear, collaborative, and solution-oriented.
- Analytical thinker with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
