**Term**: One-year full time contract, flexible hours

The position supports clients residing in our transitional housing program including outreach support to clients who have successfully transitioned into permanent housing. The objective of transitional housing is to provide people with the structure and support they need to address critical issues necessary to maintain permanent housing and achieve self‐sufficiency. Transitional housing is an intermediate step between emergency crisis service and long‐term permanent housing. It is more long‐term than emergency shelters yet remains limited to stays of between three months and three years. It is intended for people who need some degree of structure, support, supervision, and skill building to move from homelessness into stable, permanent housing.
**RESPONSIBILITES**:
- Individual support and transportation to clients of the transitional housing program
- Nutrition shopping for meal program of the residential program
- Daily meal preparation for the residential program
- Complete orientation with new clients moving into residential program
- Assist with client move in and clients exiting the program (move out)
- Purchase and restock house supplies as necessary for the residential program
- Update weekly housing search tracking forms, update housing board in the residential program
- Supervision of clients residing within the transition homes, ensuring safety and security measures are met; as well as, compliance with policies
- Respond to crisis situations and or emergencies as necessary
- Cleaning as required of the communal living home and or individual units of the residential program
- Other duties as assigned or requested by the executive director
- Complete weekly and monthly reports as required; participate in team meetings and training
- **Flexible hours including evenings and weekends will be required**
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- community College Diploma or a University Degree in social services or other closely related field or a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities as determined by the employer;
- minimum of 2 years recent work experience within a social services/health care or related environment;
- experience and knowledge of the needs of Indigenous individuals and families including
Indigenous and non-Indigenous community services and supports;
- ability to engage sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication with administrative and organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks;
- strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to work independently, as well as, part of a team;
- motivated and organized; effective problem solving and planning skills
- ability to serve as a role model and contribute to a positive work environment
- valid class G drivers license and use of personal insured vehicle is required
- Indigenous People will be given preference, as allowed under Section 24 of the Ontario Human Rights Code - _
