**Who you are**:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results Geotab is seeking a** **Lead People Data Analyst who will be responsible for advanced HR data analysis, providing strategic insights through reports and tools to optimize our workforce, enable data-driven HR strategies and elevate business decisions.
**What you’ll do**:
In this role you will manage the design, development, and maintenance of on-going measurement systems, metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to steer key business decisions. As a Lead, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to our Data & Analytics team within People Operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and utilizing advanced analytical techniques to extract actionable insights.
**How you’ll make an impact**:
- Guide and mentor people analysts, through coaching, technical expertise, and helping them develop advanced analytical skills and a deep understanding of HR practices
- Oversee the design and delivery of measurement systems, reports, tools and insights, analyzing workforce metrics.
- Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of complex HR data, including comprehensive workforce analytics, and in-depth studies to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide senior management with high-level insights into HR trends, patterns, influencing workforce planning, organizational development, and overall business strategies
- Responsible for data analysis and interpretation by conducting advanced data analysis using statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools.
- Translate complex data sets into actionable insights, trends, and prepare recommendations through data-driven storytelling for key stakeholders.
- Running recurring HR reports and performing strong validations to make sure accurate data is being provided. Reports include but not limited to the following:
- Monthly Board Reporting requirements
- Statistics Canada and other government reports
- Demographic reports
- Talent Acquisition data and reporting
- Running quality analysis reports to ensure the data entry is entered accurately in the HR system
- Lead special analytical projects that contribute to HR's strategic goals and enhance our understanding of workforce dynamics
- Lead the refinement and elaboration of data processes, ensuring the availability of accurate and reliable HR data to empower informed decision-making
**What you’ll bring to this role**:
- 8- 10 years of technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and process automation
- 8- 10 years of experience using analytics tools and software (Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, Google Big Query, Superset, etc.)
- 8- 10 years of experience as a Senior People/HR Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or a similar role. Experience working within a technical or engineering organization, with knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset
- Human Resources Management degree, certification or diploma(asset)
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
- Proficiency coding in SQL, GBQ and AppScript/JavaScript, familiarity with Python an asset
- Deep understanding of data mining, data pipelines, and the Google Cloud Platform
- Strong and compelling storytelling abilities to communicate complex findings/data to a diverse audience
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics
- Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail with accuracy
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through to completion
- Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions
