The Tawaak Housing Association is an Urban Indigenous Housing Corporation building safe, healthy urban Aboriginal communities by providing affordable, suitable, quality housing.
Under the direction of the CEO, the Property Manager is responsible for the full tenant lifecycle. The primary responsibility of the Property Manager is to oversee daily operations of our residential properties.
As a Property Manager, you’ll get to:
- Conduct regular property inspections
- Ensure compliance with leasing policies and procedures
- Complete security deposit reconciliations
- Complete tenant ledger reconciliations
- Conduct tender and bid analyses, negotiating best possible terms and preparing contract documents and monitoring contractor performance as per operational process and procedures
- Development of annual property operating budgets
- Explore avenues for increased revenue streams where available
- Respond to tenant billing inquiries and related correspondence
- Prepares strategic analysis of properties considering financial indicators, market analysis and long-term project plans
- Required to respond to after-hours emergency calls
- Other special projects and duties as assigned
What we’re looking for:
- Certified Property Manager (CPM) professional designation as an asset
- Minimum two years property management experience
- Valid drivers license with the ability to travel within Nova Scotia
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret complex material
- Effective organizational and time management abilities ensuring deadlines are consistently met
- Experience working with Yardi as an asset
