**Role description**:
Arcadis is growing Arcadis Canada is seeking an Environmental Field Technician/Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Team in Canada. This position can be based out of one of our Canadian offices in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Alberta and British Columbia. 85% travel to sites throughout region will be required as well as an opportunity to travel across Canada.
This role sits within the Global Resilience Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. **Role accountabilities**:
As an Environmental Field Technician/Environmental Scientist, you will co-ordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers pertaining to the execution of environmental projects including environmental site assessments, risk assessments, and remediation projects. This includes conducting site visits and inspections, monitoring and supervising drilling and/or remediation activities, preparing field notes, and collecting soil and groundwater samples, and writing environmental reports.
Responsibilities will include:
- Strong understanding of field protocols including soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling, and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management
- Maintain knowledge and familiarity with provincial and federal regulatory frameworks (O.Reg.153)
- Diligent interpretation of environmental data
- Comparison of sample results to applicable guidelines and standards
- Preparation of reports documenting the results of investigation programs
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, earth sciences, or related field
- 1+ years' experience in soil, groundwater or vapour sampling, and overseeing drilling activities and subcontractor management preferred.
Key Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- CTech or CET or eligibility for P.Eng. or P.Geo. considered an asset.

The salary range for this position is $35,778-54,631. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
