Job Description We are seeking a talented and experienced Environmental Scientist (Engineer, P. Geo) to join our team. "The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree or Ph.D. and 5 to 10 years of experience addressing environmental issues in mining or working in mining operations, either in Canada or internationally." This role focuses on developing mine closure options and plans, providing technical expertise from conceptual design through detailed planning. You will work closely with mine planners to advance closure designs and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mining professionals to ensure closure considerations are integrated into operational strategies. Key Responsibilities Develop scopes and proposals for closure plans, studies and projects. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary technical team in the development of preliminary and detailed reclamation and closure designs. Write, develop, and manage closure plans for mining operations (ranging from conceptual to detailed design level) in alignment with regulatory requirements and / or corporate guidance; Develop cost-effective solutions for mine closure and land reclamation activities, optimizing environmental and economic outcomes. Prepare and submit conceptual and detailed closure plans. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards. Participate in fieldwork, including site visits, data collection, and sampling. Contribute to the overall strategic development of the Environmental team. Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets. Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field. 5 to 10 years of experience in mining preferably environmental. Professional designation (P. Geo, P. Eng, or equivalent) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of programs. Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with mining operations and practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are highly desirable. Project management experience.
