hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned
McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec. All

The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology provides diagnostic, treatment, long-term follow-up, and
family-centered care to children and adolescents with cancer through an interdisciplinary team approach.
As such, the Division provides the most advanced clinical care through clinical research; the Division is

childhood cancer research organization.

The Division is currently staffed with ten Hematologists-Oncologists who offer a full-range of services
within the discipline, and who on average see 90-100 new cancer diagnoses per year including 15-20 new
leukemias per year. The malignant hematology program is a longstanding member the Children’s
Oncology Group. All of our patients have access to clinical molecular analyses and our division is involved
in multidisciplinary and multicenter review of these molecular findings via onco-genomics tumor boards
to ensure optimal therapy interventions. Our hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) program
performs an average of 15-20 transplants annually (2/3 autologous and 1/3 allogeneic) for patients with
both malignant hematological conditions and a myriad of non-malignant hematological, metabolic or
immune disorders.

In addition to our 12-bed inpatient hematology-oncology ward, we run an inpatient hematology consult
service and programs for non-malignant hematologic disorders, including thalassemia and sickle cell

disease (~300 patients). There are 3 dedicated outpatient general hematology clinics weekly as well as
weekly dedicated clinics in sickle cell disease, hemostasis and thrombosis.

Our current staff has expertise in neuro-oncology, leukemia/lymphoma, hematopoietic stem cell
transplant, solid tumors, hemostasis, thrombosis, hemoglobinopathies, long-term follow up/survivorship,
and cancer genetics. There is a very active clinical research group participating in collaborative group and
early phase studies.

There is a dedicated combined pediatric and adult non-malignant hematology research team (i.e.,
physicians, research nurses, and clinical research assistants) with current participation in gene therapy
trials, industry trials and registries. The division has a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
fellowship training program and actively participates in teaching medical students and residents from
