Based in **North Bay**, the **Land Use Planner** will report to the Senior Land Use Planner and will have a wide range of duties on a variety of land use planning projects.

**What You’ll Do**:
The Land Use Planner will be part of the TULLOCH Engineering team. You will:

- Work on both large and small development projects throughout northern and central Ontario
- Lead development proponents through the _Planning Act_ process
- Add value to land through critical thinking and rigorous policy analysis
- Work with municipalities on strategic planning policy projects
- Undertake Official Plan review exercises and municipal needs analyses
- Liaise with other professionals, municipalities, and government agencies
- Build client relations

**Who You Are**:

- You have 3-5 years experience working in a land use planning and development role, either in the private sector or at the municipal level
- You have working knowledge of the _Planning Act_, Provincial Policy Statement, municipal Official Plans, and Zoning or Development Permit By-Laws
- Full Membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) is preferred. Eligibility for full membership with OPPI within 1 year is required at a minimum.
- You are someone who makes decisions/exercises independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
- You can pivot and alter approach or recommendations to accomplish desired results
- You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance
- You are trusted and provided freedom to work independently but also contribute to the overall team success

- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including analysis and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage and navigate confidential and sensitive data and matters
- Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A valid, Class “G” driver’s license
