JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the VP & Head Global Capital Markets, Trading and Central Funding, this position is primarily responsible for Institutional Trading, Portfolio Implementation, and all aspects of index portfolio management, including the day-to-day portfolio management of our index funds, risk and performance analysis and investment platform development. This will involve close communication with, Sales, Product, Operations, Traders, Portfolio Managers, Investment Advisors, Strategic Counterparties, Service Providers, and Compliance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Portfolio implementation, executing and monitoring portfolios (ETF and mutual funds)
- Daily management of our index and ETF portfolios to ensure that corporate actions, index rebalances, and cash flows are correctly traded, and reports are correctly generated
- Research index events to evaluate trading opportunities. Perform pre-trade analysis, develop trading strategies, and analyze results post trade
- Responsible for all aspects of primary and secondary market ETF trading
- Automation, optimization and re-engineering of desk processes and tools to increase efficiency and improve ETF ecosystem
- Performance and risk management
- Work alongside our Product and Sales teams to help respond to client queries and participate in new product launches
- Build relationships and partner with other teams to support the index business including trading, operations, technology, distribution channels and strategists and other investment teams
- Communicate investment strategy and performance results to clients as required, and provide technical support on index concepts to client facing groups
- Contributing positively to our culture

- Ad-hoc projects

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- 4 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with ETF portfolio management and trading
- Registered APM or PM preferred
- Extensive portfolio construction and ETF ecosystem knowledge with a focus on risk management
- Strong knowledge of index methodologies and detailed understanding of portfolio level performance and attribution
- Understanding of corporate actions, index rebalancing and ETF trading
- Experience with designing and building investment platforms
- Ability to support strategy and client facing teams with ad-hoc portfolio analysis and bespoke reporting
- Quantitative undergraduate degree preferred (i.e., Math, Engineering, Computer Science)
- Excellent academic performance while balancing extracurricular activities
- Programming/scripting experience preferred
- Experience with Risk Engines (Barra, Axioma, FactSet, RiskMetrics, or similar) is preferred
- Strong financial modeling knowledge, mathematical background and analytical thinking
- Advanced computer and programming skills (Python, SQL preferred)
