Come be part of our innovative and passionate team at **Monte Cristo Bakery** We are actively looking for **a Buyer. **This role is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for ingredients in selected categories while reducing risk and mitigating supply challenges and inflation. Other areas of responsibility include price negotiation, vendor relations and inventory control.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Researching and selecting purchase quality ingredients and materials
- Track inventories and create purchase orders to replenish them
- Working closely with production to accurately forecast demands for department needs
- Develop sourcing strategies, efficient procurement processes, and the best pricing by building strategic relationships internally and with vendors
- Identifying which vendors to best source ingredients for new products
- Define metrics to measure supplier performance
- Study Vendor performance metrics and suggest strategies and opportunities to reduce risk of supply disruption and find cost saving opportunities while improving ingredient quality and procurement times
- Other responsibilities as assignment by management

**Qualifications and Experience Required**:

- High school diploma, college degree preferred
- 2+ years in a buyer assistant or procurement support role
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
- Experienced with MS Excel and MS Word

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - both verbal and written
- Proven analytical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- A high level of attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Energetic, Dynamic and with the ability to influence at all levels

**Monte Cristo Bakery** opened its doors in 1989 in a small shop on West Broadway. Our family owned and operated business grew from a 2,000 square foot facility to a 70, 000 square foot facility, which is now located in Delta, B.C.
