**The opportunity**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Operator will assist with the overall maintenance of the historical Grain Exchange office building on 167 Lombard Ave, as well as responding to tenant requests. Hours are Wednesday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday, Sunday from 4 PM to 12 AM. Primary duties include:

- Carry out preventative maintenance programs, day to day operations and corrective maintenance activities;
- Repair minor capital projects;
- Document activities related to building conditions, project planning, and budget planning;
- Available for on-call/stand-by emergency call-out as required;
- Assist tenants when possible and troubleshoot maintenance issues;
- Daily inspections of buildings and grounds;
- Supervise contractors and trades; and
- Facilitate requests by the Property and Operations Manager and informs the Operations Manager of any unusual activities or deficiencies noted during inspections.

**Your technical qualifications**:

- 2+ years of general maintenance experience doing a variety of work including light maintenance of HVAC equipment.
- High school diploma, required.
- WHMIS, CPR, First Aid qualified (within the last 3 years).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance and cleared criminal record check.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Proficient in working safely on ladders of various heights.
- Willingness to work off-shift or overtime, if required.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Individual will walk, climb ladders, stand, stretch, reach, bend, hold, sit and perform physical tasks for sustained periods. Good eyesight required. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Noise level in work environment is moderate.
