**Scope for the position**:
The Buyer will effectively manage inventory levels & accuracy to meet sales targets, fill rate and budgetary goals.

**Basic function of the position**:
Developing methods to ensure that all product lines remain at optimum inventory standards.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining fill rates of 93% or better for third party brands and 95% or better on private brands while sustaining inventory levels to meet budget.
- Inventory planning.
- Manage excess inventory.
- Create good working relationships with co-packers, vendors, and brokers.
- Develop a strong partnership with priority 3rd party brands.
- Work closely with supply chain and sales team to manage through SKU rationalization and aging inventory to limit write-offs.
- Work with vendors to increase their fill rates to us.
- Assist with expediting purchase orders.
- Raw Material item set up in Oracle.
- Source raw materials as required.
- Some travel may be required.
- Maintain production records, batch records and Certificates of Analysis as required.
- Complete yearly inventory of raw materials in our facility as well as at all co-packer locations.
- Co-Packer production planning and inventory control as required.
- Handling, storage and transportation of raw material as required.
- Duties as assigned by Purchasing Manager.

**Required qualifications, education, experience**:

- Post-Secondary Business/Materials Management Diploma
- Previous job-related experience or job-related experience-2-4 years
- Involvement in SCMAO, working towards CSCMP Designation is an asset
- Advanced computer skills, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with an MRP system. Oracle specifically would be an asset
- Communicate effectively both written and verbal
- Ability to perform in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
- Excellent organization skills
- Multi-task orientation
- Possess a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
