**Trojan Technologies is hiring a Buyer to work a hybrid schedule in the Guelph, ON, office**:
The Buyer will Work closely with the Production Scheduler and provide vital support to the production floor, planning and running current and future MRP requirements based on production needs.

**In this role, you will**:

- Issue daily purchase orders to suppliers to maintain on-time receipt of goods, aligning with customer/project timelines.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price competitiveness and delivery reliability to optimize cost and ensure timely deliveries.
- Review and supervise department purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications, enhancing efficiency in procurement processes.
- Negotiate purchase contracts with suppliers to secure the most cost-competitive pricing, quality standards, and delivery schedules, aiming for improved profit margins and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Engineering for new product introductions and prototype production, aiming to minimize time-to-market and maximize revenue generation.

**Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include**:

- Degree in Business or College Certificate - Diploma in Supply Chain (APICS/SCMA) or related work experience required
- 5+ years Planner-Buyer experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience working with MRP/ERP system (LN, BAAN) required, MIS preferred
- Consistently works on sophisticated assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
- Lean manufacturing - Six Sigma training and experience considered an asset.
