**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Roll-Off Truck Driver - Class 5 to join our expanding team at our busy trucking company and recycling center located on the Saanich Peninsula. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks to various destinations across Greater Victoria, the Cowichan Valley, and the Gulf Islands. You will play an essential part in ensuring our fleet operates efficiently while upholding safety standards and providing outstanding service to our customers. **Key Responsibilities**:
- Hauling Operations: Safely operate roll-off trucks to transport waste, recyclables, and materials to and from various locations within the southern-mid Vancouver Island region, including Greater Victoria, Cowichan Valley, and the Gulf Islands.
- Route Management: Follow assigned routes efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Tech Usage: Use dispatching software on your mobile device to manage route assignments, input information, and track deliveries in real-time.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and WCB regulations. Maintain a safe driving record and perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that the vehicle is maintained in good working order and report any issues to the Fleet, Transportation and Logistics Manager for timely resolution.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and site personnel to ensure smooth deliveries and excellent customer satisfaction.
**Qualifications**:
- Class 5 Driver's License is required.
- Comfortable using mobile devices and dispatching software to manage routes and input information.
- Safe driving record is a must.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to manage long drives and potentially heavy lifting during loading/unloading.
- Availability to work Saturdays due to varying routes, though we offer flexibility on days off during the week.
- Knowledge of safety procedures in trucking and recycling environments.
