The **Safety Specialist (Regional Support), SBB **ensures an effective Occupational Health and Safety Program across SBB while maintaining alignment with the corporate safety program. Our **Safety Specialist (Regional Support), SBB **are the backbone to our Safety culture. They are pros at safety training, audits and OHS Regulations. We’re looking for a **Safety Specialist (Regional Support), SBB **to support our three SBB mills in Alberta and Saskatchewan. This is a hybrid position based remotely in Alberta with regular travel to our three SBB mills.
- **Post-secondary education** in an occupational health and safety discipline, combined with **5+ years of experience** in an **industrial safety environment.**:

- **CRSP designation.**:

- Strong experience with **COR Audits.**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of **OHS Regulations/Codes** for both Alberta and Saskatchewan.

In your role you will:

- Work with SBB leadership and Safety and Asset Protection Advisors, **standardize safety policies** and **procedures** to **best practices**.
- **Develop **and **share communication** on safety topics, initiatives, and awareness.
- Organize and chair the monthly **SBB SAPA/Leadership**:

- Be a** resource** and **support** for **developing** and **delivering **SBB training.
- Use your strong **COR Audit** and knowledge of **OHS Regulations and Codes** to develop and document SBB policies and procedures.
- **Develop** a process and program to **deliver** safety training to new supervisors.
- **Develop** and **support** new safety leaders.
- Be involved in **serious incident investigations**.
- **Travel regularly** to the three SBB mills. Approximately **50-60% of your time** will be spent traveling. When not at one of the mills you’ll **work remotely** from your **home office**.
