Macadam Construction is hiring **Off-Road Truck Operators **to join our construction team and play a critical role in transporting materials and equipment across construction sites.

The Off-Road Truck Operator will operate heavy-duty trucks designed for off-road environments, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of materials while adhering to established protocols.

**Responsibilities**:
**Truck Operation**:

- Operate off-road trucks to transport materials, debris, and equipment between various locations on construction sites.
- Load and unload materials onto and from trucks using appropriate equipment or machinery.

**Material Handling**:

- Safely load and secure materials on the truck bed to prevent shifting during transit.
- Transport materials to designated areas following project plans and directions from supervisors.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while operating off-road trucks.
- Ensure proper loading and securing of materials to prevent accidents or spillage.

**Communication**:

- Maintain effective communication with supervisors, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate material transport and movement.

**Site Navigation**:

- Navigate and maneuver off-road trucks on various terrains, including rough and uneven surfaces.
- Exercise caution and precision to ensure safe truck operation in challenging conditions.

**Maintenance and Inspection**:

- Perform routine inspections on trucks to ensure they are in proper working condition before and after each shift.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.

**Efficiency and Productivity**:

- Operate trucks with a focus on efficiency and productivity, ensuring timely material transport and movement.
- Optimize routing and load distribution to minimize downtime and delays.

**Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate records of materials transported, truck usage, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in preparing reports related to truck performance and maintenance.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as an Off-Road Truck Operator, demonstrating proficiency in operating heavy-duty trucks in off-road conditions.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with relevant endorsements.
- Strong understanding of truck operation principles and safety practices.
- Ability to navigate and maneuver trucks in challenging off-road terrains.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in material loading and transport.
- Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following safety regulations.

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Middle Sackville, NS B4B 1S1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
