Ottawa, Canada The Scottish and Irish Store Full time

We are hiring for the **Ottawa East** branch of **The Scottish and Irish Store** (1717 St Laurent Blvd).

**Overview**:
You are responsible for generating sales by providing the customer with an exceptional shopping experience. Maximize sales by delivering efficient, friendly and knowledgeable service and ensuring the store is neat, clean and well-presented at all times.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop positive customer relationships through friendly greetings and excellent customer service
- Answer questions about the origin of each product sold, including the type of materials, locations of manufacturing, and workmanship involved by being knowledgeable on all products offered.
- Process customer payments using point of sale.
- Stock shelves and organize product displays.
- Merchandising tasks, such as receiving shipments, price markdowns, fitting room upkeep.
- Ensure store is visually appealing contributing to company standards through product presentation, replenishment, store housekeeping, store maintenance and visual displays.
- Fit customers for custom kilts and kilt rentals.
- Be a team player and contribute to the stores’ success.
- Maintain opening and closing procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of Scottish, Irish and English Culture is an asset.
- High School Diploma is required.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills, French is an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Previous retail experience is an asset.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour

Additional pay:

- Commission pay

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
