Strathmore, Canada Accredited Supports Full time

Celebrating 50 years, Accredited Supports to the Community (ASC) is seeking professional and experienced individuals who demonstrate creativity for supporting children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities in the community and/or in a group setting.

This position provides 20 to 32 hours per week at a starting rate of $19.26 to 20.33 per hour (depending on credentials and experience). The schedule will flex to the needs of the individuals attending the program between the hours of 9:00am to 7:00pm on weekdays and Saturdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm.This position may be a combination of children’s programs (FUNTIMES) as well as the adult program (GROUP MATTERS).

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and implement activities for children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities in a group setting that adheres to ASC policy and procedures
- Facilitate learning opportunities in social and leisure settings
- Ensure individuals have adequate and necessary supports while working on skill development and independence
- Being flexible and adaptable to the ongoing needs of individuals
- Writing accurate and respectful documentation
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of child development and of developmental disabilities with both children and adults
- Have knowledge & experience to provide support and de-escalation strategies in challenging behavioural situations
- Be compassionate and have the ability to build professional rapport with children, adults and their families and/or guardian
- Have the flexibility to work scheduled shifts
- Have a minimum Grade 12 or General Equivalency Diploma (Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistant, Human/Child Services certifications are an asset and not a requirement)
- A reliable vehicle and class 5 driver’s license
- Proof of vehicle insurance showing $2 million liability coverage; business-use for transporting clients within the community
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check
