**Safety Coordinator**

**Dartmouth, NS**

**Location**: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, on-site

**Hours**: Monday to Friday, day shift, fulltime

**Travel**: some travel may be required to our other facilities

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with OH&S training, including new hire orientation.
- Update Safety Data Sheets and provide WHMIS education.
- Provide support with incident investigations.
- Assist in the implementing of safety measures, conducting inspections and promoting a culture of safety on site;
- Evaluation and monitoring of safety hazards and assist in the development of strategies to control risks in the workplace and analyze trends;
- Administration of the contractor management program;
- Perform regular on-site safety inspections;
- Investigate safety incidents on equipment and systems and conduct safety audits;
- Participate in monthly JOHS Committee meeting and assist in the resolution of safety issues.

**Job Requirements**
- 2+ years of experience in occupational health & safety in a manufacturing environment;
- Undergraduate Degree and/or certificate or diploma in OH&S or equivalent experience;
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Strong presentation skills, including attention to detail;
- Excellent oral and written communication;
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as a part of a team;
- Certified first aider or willingness to become certified;
- Possess a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license;
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
