Oakville, Canada Kingdon and Associates Full time

Two positions are available. For a one-on-one in-person tutor required, representing Kingdon and Associates Tutoring Services in Oakville, Ontario. One position is for grade 8-12 English tutoring support, and the other is for grades 3-7 English support, including homework support. Must have your own transportation to drive to the student's home after school and on weekends. Some of the older students may be able to transition to virtual touring when rapport has been established. Must have some tutoring or teaching experience. Students will require intensive reading and writing support to reteach and review. Creativity and the ability to adapt planned tutoring sessions to the student's individual needs and interests are very important. Will include some communication with the school and parents, to ensure that tutoring enhances what is being learned at school and incorporates strategies that are effective for the learner's needs. Must be warm and engaging, able to make learning fun, and direct/motivate students to stay on task. Must have a vulnerable person's criminal reference check.

**Summary**

As a Tutor, you will be instrumental in fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for the student. Your core skills in tutoring, teaching, executive function strategies and effective communication will enable you to convey complex concepts clearly and motivate this learner. With experience working with children, you will tailor your approach to meet this student's educational needs. **Responsibilities**
- Provide individualized tutoring sessions to enhance the student's understanding of English homework.
- Develop lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of the student.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.
- Utilize experience to implement effective teaching strategies and techniques.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
