**The Company**

**Birchwood Meadows**is a family-run flower farm and sister company to Cory Christopher. Nestled in Sturgeon County, the farm began growing grain and trees, but has evolved over the past four decades into an artful, inspired agri-experience.

**The Role**

The Greenhouse & Farm Assistant will be getting their hands dirty with all sorts of tasks around the farm and greenhouse, helping us cultivate over 35 varieties of blooms, and providing support when we welcome visitors to the U-Pick Garden and greenhouse throughout the summer and fall.

This position is located at Birchwood Meadows Flower Farm, approximately 45 minutes north of Edmonton.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working in the flower beds, greenhouse and around the farm
- Planting and transplanting seeds, seedlings, tubers, plants, small shrubs, etc.
- Daily plant maintenance, including watering, pruning, fertilizing
- Planting/arrangement of containers + planters for clients
- Keeping the greenhouse clean and organized
- Planting, weeding and maintenance of farm beds
- Help with general labour around the farm including clean up, organizing and maintenance
- Working closely with and supporting the Cory Christopher team for events/activities at the farm and flower harvesting
- Assisting visitors around the farm/greenhouse as required

**Job Qualifications**:

- Previous farm or plant-related experience is definitely an asset
- Customer service experience preferred
- Love of the outdoors and getting your hands dirty
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to function as part of the team
- Reliable transportation to and from the farm is the responsibility of the applicant.

- Possess excellent spoken English and general communication skills
