Job Summary

Seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer to support our team in maintaining and developing outdoor spaces and agricultural areas. This role involves physical labor, operation of various tools and equipment, and hands-on maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic technical skills, and the ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery as needed. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in horticulture, irrigation, and farm maintenance within a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution.
  • Perform general horticultural tasks such as planting, pruning, weeding, and soil preparation.
  • Operate farm machinery including tractors, mowers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Use hand tools and power tools for various maintenance tasks around the property or farm.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and infrastructure to identify issues requiring repair or replacement.
  • Assist with heavy lifting of materials such as soil, plants, or equipment to support landscaping or farm activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Support seasonal projects such as planting, harvesting, or infrastructure upgrades as needed.

Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery and equipment operation.
  • Experience with irrigation systems, horticulture practices, and general plant care.
  • Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with hand tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping.
  • Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged physical activity.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment with proper training.
  • Strong attention to safety protocols when working with machinery or in outdoor environments.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately. This position is ideal for individuals eager to develop their skills in agriculture, or maintenance fields while contributing to meaningful outdoor projects in a supportive team environment.

Requirements:

  • No diploma/certificate/degree required
  • English speaking preferred
  • Valid drivers license and applicant is responsible for their own transportation
  • Applicants must be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Applicants must be physically fit and prepared to stand for extended periods of time

Will train, experience is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $17.44 per hour

Expected hours: 60 – 72 per week
