Qualicare Whitby is locally owned and managed by a nurse who has 23+ years of dementia, palliative and community care experience. We not only provide consistent, individual attention to ensure our clients and their families get the best care possible, but we are always available to support our care team.

**We are hiring a PSW/DSW/SSW/HCA to visit clients for 1-2 hour visits for afternoon/evening and every other weekend shifts in the Pickering/Ajax area. Mileage will be paid for travel.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
This position is for a visiting PSW, providing in-home care for one hour per visit. Must be comfortable travelling to and from clients’ homes throughout the day within the community. Care includes: assisting with mobility and transfers; meal preparation and feeding; assisting with daily activities, personal care, and light housekeeping

**Qualifications**:

- PSW/DSW/SSW/HCW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution
- RN/RPN degree/diploma
- RN student with a minimum successful completion of 3 years, or RPN student with a minimum successful completion of 1 year
- Valid Police Vulnerable Sectors Check
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Up-to-date Immunization Record, including two COVID-19 vaccinations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required
- Experience working in the community as a PSW is an asset.
- Ability to read, write and speak English (equivalent to grade 10 level).
- Demonstrated commitment to client and family-centred care.
- Use of proper body mechanics and successful completion of physical readiness test to ensure safe work practices are followed including mobility, transfers, bending, lifting, push and pulling.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize safety concerns
- Communicate effectively using a computer and/or mobile device.
- Requires good judgement, the ability to work independently and work cooperatively with the caregiving team.
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills to safely service clients.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
