Pembroke, Canada Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre Full time

**Responsibilities**

  • Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems
  • Develop and implement counselling care plans by conducting individual counselling sessions
  • Collect and manage case information to maintain client files using database
  • May facilitate group sessions both virtual and face to face
  • Knowledge of mental health services act, privacy health legislation and other relevant legislation
  • May be required to provide community based education workshops
  • May participate in fundraising activities

**Qualifications and skills**

  • Minimum education level of post graduate college diploma in social service work or mental health & addiction studies
  • Must have a minimum of five years counselling experience
  • Ability to set short term objectives and use a solution focused approach
  • Ability to clinically manage high-risk cases, including clients who are a threat to self or others
  • Able to work with individuals and possess sound knowledge of community resources
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to handle a large volume of clients
  • High professionalism and adherence to ethical principles of conduct

**Terms**

  • One full time position (currently 35 hrs/week)
  • Main work location is Pembroke but will be required to work in the Renfrew location a minimum of one day per week
  • Must have the ability to undergo a successful criminal record vulnerable sector search
  • Salary range: 22.82 to 27.80 remuneration is based on experience
