About the Role
North American Lumpers Inc. is hiring a Working Team Lead - a hands-on leader who works alongside the crew while keeping freight moving safely and efficiently.
The Team Lead manages people, freight, and performance while acting as the primary liaison between our lumpers, client supervisors, and NAL dispatch.
This is leadership from the floor up - where communication, organization, and teamwork drive success. At NAL, we don’t just fill positions - we build leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload and load freight (floor loads, palletized, and mixed freight) alongside your crew
- Lead, train, and motivate teams across multiple warehouse sites
- Serve as the communication bridge between crews, clients, and dispatch
- Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication at all times
- Oversee productivity, accuracy, and safety standards on every shift
- Track load progress, manage documentation, and report performance metrics
- Support continuous improvement and team accountability
**Requirements**:
- Reliable personal transportation (travel to multiple client sites required)
- Proven leadership experience in warehouse, crossdock, or freight-handling operations
- Excellent communication and organization skills - must be a clear, confident communicator able to lead teams and work directly with clients
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Physically capable of performing hands-on freight-handling tasks
- Flexible availability - days, afternoons, nights, and weekends
- Forklift or walkie certification is an asset (must be obtained within 30 days)
Working Environment
- Fast-paced logistics operations
- Dry storage: ambient warehouse settings
- Cold storage: frozen facilities averaging -20°C
- Chilled storage: refrigerated docks averaging 2°C
- Conditions vary by site - from freezer cold to summer heat
Compensation and Benefits
- $250 weekly base salary plus load wages (performance-based pay)
- After 90 days: performance review and eligibility for 1.5% commission based on team performance and account profitability

Responsabilités principales
- Participer activement au chargement et au déchargement du fret (palettisé, en vrac ou mixte)
- Diriger, former et motiver les équipes sur plusieurs sites d’entreposage
- Servir d’intermédiaire entre les équipes, les clients et la répartition
- Maintenir une communication claire, constante et professionnelle
- Surveiller la productivité, la précision et le respect des normes de sécurité
- Gérer la progression des chargements, la documentation et les rapports
- Favoriser l’amélioration continue et la responsabilisation de l’équipe
