The English Education, Programs and Services division is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and support for English language curricula, programs, services and resources for teachers and students from kindergarten to Grade 12. Mathematics coaches work with the School Administrator Leaders, elementary coordinators and coaches, as well as English programs leaders, to fulfil the Department's responsibilities in mathematics instruction, assessment and student achievement.

**Duties will include but are not limited to**:

- Support teachers (K-9) in the delivery of the mathematics curriculum using best practices in effective instruction;
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver lessons, and engage in pre
- and post-conferences;
- Work in collaboration with the coaches and leaders of English Education, Programs and Services;
- Collaborate with committee members in the development and delivery of Provincial professional learning;
- Support Department priorities and initiatives by drawing upon quality research, and through the sharing of effective instructional and assessment strategies;
- Collaborate in the development of instructional and class-based assessment resources, and contribute to the maintenance of digital resources;
- Participate in ongoing professional learning;
- Other duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Applicants must have a degree in Education, preferably at the Master level.
- Extensive recent experience teaching English mathematics (K-9).
- Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a PEI Teacher's Academic Certificate Level 5 or higher.
- Demonstration of excellent interpersonal skills as well as a collaborative approach to working.
- Successful applicant must provide an acceptable criminal record check prior to beginning employment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle and a good previous work/attendance record.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
- Experience developing and facilitating workshops, leading moderated marking, modeling effective instructional and implementing classroom-based intervention strategies for students would be considered assets
- Knowledge of early numeracy gained through graduate work and/or additional training would be also considered an asset.
