Head Barista

**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, including basic math calculations for change.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment and utensils.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly.
- Assist with food preparation and serving, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Utilize POS systems, including Micros POS, to process orders efficiently.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service.
- Follow all food handling guidelines to maintain quality and safety in food service.

**Qualifications**
- Previous barista experience is required.
- Experience in the food industry is a required, with knowledge of food safety practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
- Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous; experience with Micros POS is a plus.

Pay: $17.20-$23.59 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Scarborough, ON M1P 2P5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Barista: 5 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
