**Literacy Program Assistant**
**Required for St. Paul Education**
St. Paul Education is hiring a Literacy Program Assistant to work collaboratively with our Literacy Intervention Team, starting August 27, 2025. This job will involve providing targeted literacy programs, creating resources, and working within the school environment at assigned schools.
Duties of the Literacy Program Assistant may include:
- Implementing programs/strategies with specific children and/or groups of children
- Documenting and reporting on student progress and response to current programs/strategies
- Working collaboratively with other literacy team members
- Presenting universal programming in front of a classroom or small group setting
- Using screening tools to determine the levels of need of students
- Other Duties as assigned by the Literacy Consultant
- All duties are under the direction or supervision of the Literacy Consultant or Director of Inclusive Education and Early Learning
- Strong knowledge base in literacy
- Collaborative nature
- Efficient and comfortable with the use of technology (Google, iPad)
- Willingness to learn
- Problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills
- A compassionate and resilient personality
- Strong organizational skills
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of the Acadiance Reading program would be considered an asset
- The ability to speak French would be considered an asset

We serve the communities of St. Paul, Elk Point, Two Hills, Mallaig, Ashmont, Myrnam and Heinsburg. We also serve students from Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Whitefish Lake First Nation #128, Frog Lake First Nation and Kehewin Cree Nation.
In 1995, parent and community stakeholders initiated the amalgamation of five school boards into what is now St. Paul Education. In doing so, St. Paul Education became the only school division in Alberta to operate both separate and public schools under one board. The Division's religious, linguistic and cultural diversity is a source of strength and pride.
We serve 3640 students (K-12), including Catholic, First Nation, Mennonite, Hutterite and Home Schooling learners. Our 19 definable school sites are staffed by approximately 232 FTE teaching staff and 293 support staff.
