**BOARD CERTIFIED APPLIED BEHAVIOUR ANALYST (BCBA)**

Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, the successful applicant will provide services to improve our students’ communication and social skills through individualized positive behaviour support plans, safety intervention plans, and program goals and objectives to reduce behaviour challenges. The BCBA will perform the tasks and duties within their scope of practice and in accordance with the standards outlined by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board. This temporary, (10) month full-time position works 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from September 2024 to June 30, 2025 at the Catholic Education Centre in Dublin, Ontario.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide assessment, intervention, collaborate with administrators, teachers, learning coordinators/consultants and make recommendations regarding behavioural programs, resources, accommodations and modifications for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or students who present with behavioural challenges.
- Implement programs based on ABA principles increasing communication, self-help, social and play skills.
- Coach, model and build capacity within school teams on how to effectively manage challenging behaviours.
- Motivate students to learn and provide reinforcement for achieved skills.
- Manage challenging behaviours that occur.
- Utilize key communication skills to work with staff members, parents and caregivers.
- Enhance student outcomes by facilitating student access, participation and inclusion in the curriculum and broader school environment.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team and family/parental meetings.
- Engage with individuals and community agencies involved in teaching or providing support to students.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation in compliance with the Board’s policies, practices.
- Accurately collect and record data and report student’s progress.
- Interpret data and prepare reports as required by the Superintendent of Education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Education and effectively manage a diverse and changing caseload.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioural Studies, Psychology, Education or related field is required.
- Certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board is preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience working with children with Autism, behavioural challenges is required; preferable in an educational environment and/or public sector.
- High level of interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills.
- Working knowledge of, and experience in the education system in Ontario.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including presentation skills, data collection and preparing reports.
- Demonstrated experience in developing successful relationships and collaborations with administrators, educators, various partners, and the broader community.
- Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive matters, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities and deadlines with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to maintain tact, discretion and strict confidentiality.
- Ability to perform well independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviours and proactively managing bias.
- Computer skills including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- A valid class G (or higher) Ontario driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle, this position requires use of own vehicle.
