**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**: Provide social work assessment, support/services, analysis and treatment with students Provide clinical consultation, assessment, and counselling related to student mental health and well-being, while working collaboratively with parent/guardian(s), school staff and community partners Facilitate social work/mental health skills groups with students Collaborate with agencies such as Childrens Aid Society (CAS), healthcare, childrens mental health programs to support the mental health and well-being of students. Provide crisis consultation and intervention for student mental health and well-being Provide Traumatic Events Support (TES) to students, staff and school communities Educate and provide professional learning/psychoeducation for Board staff, students and/or school families Develop, promote, manage, administer, deliver and evaluate service programs, which may be done in collaboration with other professionals; Collaborate with community members/providers and advocating for social change Provide consultation services to social workers, social service workers, other professionals, organizations and/or communities as they relate to direct/indirect, clinical/non-clinical care or services; Engage in program/resource development to ensure responsiveness to the needs of students Engage in research projects/activities related to the practice of school social work Document and maintain clinical re cords to students in compliance with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers standards Engage in professional learning development activities aligned with Board requirements and within the scope of a social worker as required by the Superintendent of Education (Mental Health) and Mental Health Lead (MHL) Any other activities within the scope of Social Work and as requested and approved by the Superintendent of Education (Mental Health) and Mental Health Lead (MHL) QUALIFICATIONS: A Masters in Social Work is required, consideration will be given to a Bachelors in Social Work with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers. A minimum of three (3) years of clinical social work experience in the mental health field or in education Social Work experience with children, youth and families, Certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) an asset.
Knowledge of formal and informal services and resources. Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, Child & Family Services Act and any other relevant legislation. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice, specifically in school mental health. Proven experience in self-directed learning and Peer Supervision, providing and receiving clinical feedback.
Ability to provide support and coverage throughout the board as required. Ability to diffuse conflict and foster collaborative working relationships. Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive matters, problem solving and strong analytical skills. Proven accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities and deadlines with excellent time management skills. Ability to maintain tact, discretion and strict confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to function independently and as part o f a multidisciplinary team. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including presentation skills and preparing reports.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through continuous professional development and reflective practice. Computer skills including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. A valid class G (or higher) Ontario drivers license and a reliable vehicle, this position requires use of own vehicle. The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board offers: Competitive compensation of $45.36 per hour, plus vacation pay.
