**Accounting Manager
**OBJECTIVE**:

This challenging and rewarding position will provide the opportunity to develop your technical skills and knowledge while performing the following functions:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Working with the team and to obtain necessary documentation to effectively prepare and review personal, corporate and trust tax returns, identifying tax savings for clients.
- Review accuracy of tax returns, minimize tax liabilities, determine tax credits and provisions.
- Review QB accounting, T2 filing, year end meetings/interacting with client planning and execution.
- Assist the team with tax planning and estate taxes.
- Manage a group of clients with care and grow accounts over time.
- Provide holistic tax and financial planning needs, by looking at clients life insurance needs and investments.
- Respond to client and CRA inquires.
- Delegate responsibilities to junior team members, including reviewing team members’ work for accuracy and compliance.
- Guidance to junior team members on both tax technical & performance management skills.
- Recommend tax strategies that align with the firm’s strategic vision and goals;
- Prepare memos and correspond with clients on various matters;
- Maintain required level of technical knowledge and follow industry trends related to tax.
- Seek methods to increase compliance and efficiency for our clients and automate as needed.
- Support the development of tax professionals and other junior tax staff members by coaching, mentoring and training as needed.

**PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; possess a CPA or working towards.
- 3+ years proven work experience as a Tax Accountant/ Accountant, with a Canadian CPA firm.
- Knowledge of accounting for income tax and tax concepts required.
- Commitment to professional client service excellence and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
- Experience in US taxes would be an asset.
- Strong research skills and a developed sense of resourcefulness;
- Strong sense of ownership and leadership abilities with a collaborative spirit;
- Strong organizational abilities with high attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
