Key Responsibilities
- **Patient Care**:
- Assist veterinarians in examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
- Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology, etc.).
- Provide nursing care, including wound care, catheter placement, and fluid therapy.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Perform diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasounds under supervision).
- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, monitoring anesthesia safely.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs.
- **Hospital Support**:
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, kennels, and equipment.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
**Qualifications**:
- Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) preferred, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or clinic setting strongly preferred.
- Strong technical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to animal welfare.
Work Environment
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Exposure to animals of various temperaments and medical conditions.
- Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
