The opportunity What you’ll be doing Asset Protection - Monitor and prepare watch and impaired reports for submission to Optimum management and Credit Risk Management (“CRM”) in accordance with CWBFG’s Personal Banking Residential Mortgage Protocol, including recommendations for action such as risk rating downgrades and upgrades. - Calculate and recommend Specific Allowance provisions. - Identify and escalate Borrowers eligible for work out solutions to assist in keeping the Borrower in good standing - Prepare claim submissions to mortgage insurers - Remain current with relevant regulatory requirements and industry leading practices and risk trends. Data Analysis & Reporting - Complete ongoing reporting to mortgage insurers as required. - Compile and prepare the monthly impaired forecasts, ongoing reporting on soft arrears, arrears, delinquencies, and NSF numbers, write-off evaluation reporting, large balance delinquent loan status reporting - Provide feedback to management and internal audit on fraud and/or underwriting trends in Watch and Impaired loans. Administration, Day to Day Duties - Oversee the Special Loans team to ensure that all stressed/delinquent borrowers as identified by the Outstanding Payment ("OP") or Master Delinquency Reports are proactively contacted. - Proactively strive to manage unsatisfactory debt write offs within budget by closely monitoring the high-risk files, including those under property management. - Ensure all Watch and Impaired Loan reports, mortgages under CRM authority, including managerial sign-off, are completed in a timely manner. - Oversees monthly and quarterly review of loans to ensure allowances are allocated prior to month/quarter end, including the completion of quarterly write offs for mortgages with losses. - Oversees all high-risk loans on Credit Risk Early Warning System (“CREWS”) are monitored monthly to ensure timely upgrades on mortgages to reduce the number of affected mortgages. - Ensure all foreclosure activities are completed in a timely manner. including escalation to lawyer and negotiations with realtors. - Provide timely review resolutions and solutions to retentions to assist in maximizing the amount of non-renewal mortgages and renewals in closed terms. Who we’re looking for & what you’ve done Professional Knowledge - Minimum 2 years post-secondary diploma in a Business-related faculty, or a related education program (e.g. via Credit Institute of Canada) - Knowledge of residential underwriting or mortgage administration - Proficiency in T24, LMS, CREWS and WAVE - Minimum of 5 years of collections management, or other relevant professional experience in the mortgage lending industry. - Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience with a high-performance team Professional Competencies - Demonstrated knowledge of the foreclosure and litigation process across all Canadian provinces (excluding Quebec) - Demonstrated fluency in the collections cycle. - Proven track record in working with complex spreadsheets with strong proficiency using Excel. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Strong quantitative skills with attention to detail, time management, and organization skills - Demonstrat
