Our team of approximately 400 does this essential work both on our campus, which includes 55 buildings on 300 acres, also on our multiple off-site locations, which include 11 buildings.

**Job Summary**

This role will take on financial functions and take ownership in several projects such as financial cash flow management projection, maintenance of capital projects and system review projects to utilize the capital BI report in conjunction with the Director. In Facility Services; a multi-department environment.

Under the direction of the Director, the employee will be responsible for developing, recommending, implementing, and monitoring the annual operating budgets and Capital budgets. Overseeing adequate financial controls are in place and that they are in accordance with University policies and procedures. Assisting with annual year-end audits and multiple specific purpose capital audits. This includes liaising with all faculties, departments and research centres across the University. The Finance Manager is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of the 3 FTE finance staff members of the Department and 1 to 3 students.

**Accountabilities**
- Provides financial assistance in a multi-site environment
- Formulates business plans and analyzes alternative operating strategies enabling the
- Department’s to make informed decisions Operational analysis process development and reporting.
- Development and oversight of individualized support for capital projects and Design and Construction group
- Has accountability for financial decision making in collaboration with the Director of Finance and leads the implementation of projects related to the budgeting and financial strategic objectives of the Department
- Oversees the ongoing identification, of all relevant data, projections, and forecasts that are required to be prepared to support the Department’s strategic goals and operational activities, in collaboration and consultation with the Director of Finance.
- Provides financial analysis with respect to matters affecting the Department, which requires an understating of operating areas and capital undertakings of the University (both internal and external), as well as external markets relevant to business in which the Department has a financial or stakeholder interest.
- Directs others in the preparation of individual and consolidated monthly financial reports for the Director of Finance, and consults each quarter providing updated projections for revenue and expenditures and revising the financial plan accordingly.
- Accountability for the preparation of all interim and year-end financial statements, and assists the Director of Finance in reconciling various systems of financial data to ensure the accuracy of the Department’s financial statements. etc. Mosaic (MM)
- Audits all accounts and revenues; ensures compliance with University, Departmental, Ministry and other relevant budget policies and financial procedures; and prepares all appropriate reporting and year-end documentation, which includes monitoring accounts, interpreting, and making financial recommendations to be reviewed by the Director of Finance
