Catering Coordinator

**Summary**

The expectation of this position is that the employee performs their duties and responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner. Furthermore, the expectation is to perform these duties while working as a part of a team.

**Essential and Responsibilities**
- Coordinate with Catering contacts to establish their catering event expectations
- Responsible for planning and organizing the success of small to mid scale catering events at TD place
- Keep catering estimates, BEOs, Buffet Layouts, Floor Plans and Beverage menus for each event up to date
- Creates documentation for the Catering Binder as required
- Assists the Premium/Catering Manager with the preparation of any large scale or multi day catering events
- Create final event invoices and process payment for completed catering events
- Schedules Catering staff for upcoming events
- Distribute information on all upcoming catering events to the culinary team
- Must maintain knowledge of catering menu offerings, dietary restrictions, and quantity recommendations based on the event
- Must communicate efficiently and effectively with all managers, staff, and other departments to ensure the success of an event
- Responsible for staff training
- Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests
- Must be able to effectively communicate with managers and co-workers to effectively accomplish goals.
- Participate in daily pre-shift
- Know locations of event spaces in the stadium
- Must be able to operate different food warming equipment, beer taps, POS Machines and any other equipment used during the event
- Able to resolve team issues in a professional manner
- Ensure all items are returned to their proper storage locations and that the event is cleaned up properly, following closing procedures
- Lead and assist team members in assigned task including working as a catering server and other job duties as per operational needs
- Ensures cleanliness, readiness, and safety of assigned catering area following health and safety protocols
- Creates documentation for Catering Binder as requested
- Conducts monthly inventory of catering equipment and product
- Responsible to come up with new social media ideas and plans to market the catering department and bring in other customers
- Responsible for doing catering social media posts based on the agreed upon schedule
- All other tasks as delegated by Premium/Catering Manager.

**Physical Demands/ Work Environment**
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
- Frequent periods of standing and walking
- Frequent use of stairs.
- Size of Stadium tends to involve higher physical demands on event days.
- Sensory Attention: this environment is a noisy loud environment on event days.

**Language Skills**
- French is considered an asset; but is not mandatory.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 2 years’ previous catering or hospitality experience required
- Minimum of 2 years’ previous supervisor experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ previous customer service experience
- Must have completed high school or equivalent. Relevant work experience will be considered an asset.
- Must be bondable, and pass an employer administered background check.
- Must be able to demonstrate mathematical skills
- Must possess a valid Smart Serve Certificate
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment
- Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Advanced Food Safety Certification considered an asset

**Salary**: $22.66 per hour

To ensure a safe workplace and prevent the spread of COVID-19 at large events, the client will require all workers to verify that they are fully vaccinated before the start of any event shift. Masks must be worn at all times.
