The coordinator will travel to 6 KO communities for one week four times a year and will utilize telemedicine to provide continuous capacity strengthening activities to community programs and support the community programs with all areas of program delivery. Travel to Red Lake will also be required at least once every year.

**ACCOUNTIBILITY**

The coordinator reports directly to and works under the supervision of the KO Health Director.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**OPERATIONAL PLANNING**
- Connecting communities to government authorities at local, regional, and national levels to facilitate access for children with a developmental delay or disability to needed programs and services
- Support the communities to develop an operational plan for their Child First programs which incorporates goals and objectives
- Respond to request from assigned communities on issues affecting program delivery
- Facilitate the collection of both regional and community program data to confirm that promised services are delivered, that each service provider follows through, and that desired outcomes are being achieved for both the child and their family, and the program.
- Facilitate partnerships with government and non-government organizations to fill service gaps identified by the communities

**PROGRAM PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT**
- Assist the communities with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of their programs
- Assist the communities in the monitoring of day-to-day delivery of programs and services to maintain or improve quality
- Risk management, work with the communities to identify and evaluate the risks to the programs (clients, staff, volunteers), and assist the communities to implement measures to control and minimize risks

**HUMAN RESOURCES PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT**
- Assist the communities to recruit qualified individuals to deliver community programs
- Co-ordinate the hiring process for professional staff ensuring technical and personal abilities to meet program expectations
- Assist the communities to implement a performance management process which includes monitoring the performance of staff on an on-going basis and conducting an annual performance review

**FINANCIAL PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT**
- Research funding sources and assist communities to write funding proposals to increase the funds available for program delivery

- Keep accurate and timely records and reports observations
- Reports incidents, accidents, and unusual activity, immediately

**SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide direct administrative supervision to the Jordan’s Principle Allied Health Professionals working within the parameters of the KO Health Jordan’s Principle Program
- Participate in and accept supervision/feedback from the Health Director

**OTHER DUTIES**
- Accepts other duties as may be assigned

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in a health profession such as Social Sciences, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Nursing or related discipline
- Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and make decisions within job scope
- Ability to work within a team setting or independently
- Experience in health program development for First Nations communities
- Must be sensitive to the cultural traditions of the Keewaytinook Okimakanak people
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Experience working with First Nation communities
- Proven leadership abilities, including accountability and work-habits
- Experience and skills working in a political environment
- Experience in report and proposal writing
- Experience in collecting and reporting statistics
- Knowledge of the complex multi-layered structure of health and social program
- Knowledge or experience with children with developmental delays or disabilities and their families
- Ability to efficiently and effectively utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint
- Ability to understand or speak any of the community dialects is considered an asset.
