Tandem Truck Driver W/ 1a or 3a License

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandem Truck or Dump Trailer Driver to join our team. As a Tandem Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of tandem trucks or dump trailers for snow hauling. Your attention to safety, reliability, and equipment maintenance are critical to our operations' success. **Possibility of continued employment into the Green Season as part of our Landscape Maintenance or Landscape Construction crews beginning April through November.**

**Wages**:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour (depending on experience)

**What you will do**:

- Competently operate vehicles such as tandem dump trucks or one-ton trucks with tri axle dump trailers in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Plan efficient routes for snow hauling and transporting materials and supplies to designated destinations.
- Ensure availability for hauling snow during the night times.
- Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's mechanical fitness and safety compliance.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle, including checking oil, tires, brakes, and other essential components.
- Ensure that loads are secure and evenly distributed to prevent accidents during transportation.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth operations.

**Shifts and Schedules**:

- Snow hauling/clearing shifts are varied and can include late evening and night start times.
- Longer hours and weekend shifts when required.
- Must be flexible with shift times.
- Availability on short notice.
- Monitor weather forecast to anticipate incoming weather events.

**What you will bring**:

- Valid Saskatchewan 1A or 3A license.
- Clean drivers abstract required.
- Availability for longer hours and weekends when needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work shifts with flexible timings including late evenings and night start times.
- Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule to accommodate varying snowfall patterns.
- Ability to read and interpret maps.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous tasks in cold weather conditions.
- Effective English communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to follow safe working procedures.
- Good observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- Snow hauling experience is an asset.

**Work Conditions**:

- Various locations including both residential and commercial sites.
- Extremely flexible working hours, including nights, weekend, and holiday work.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work safely near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
- Work outdoors in various conditions including extreme cold, rain, dust, noise, and wet conditions.
