Under the direction of the Director, Institutional Planning and Research, the Research Analyst will play a central role in the production of standard and customized data reports to help advance strategic planning and evidence-based decision-making at Northwestern Polytechnic. The position will also conduct primary and secondary research into labour market and student demand to support program development, conduct research studies utilizing the Polytechnic's student information systems, support government compliance reporting, and support the deployment of the Polytechnic core institutional surveys and evaluation research efforts.

The primary responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to three core areas:

- Reporting and Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and produce reports
- Research Services: Conduct surveys, labour market analyses, student demand analyses
- Government Accountability: Support government reporting activities

This position will be remote.

Job Requirements

Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

- Demonstrated data visualization skills using Excel Charts, Pivot Charts, and slicers; experience using Tableau or Power BI is a definite asset
- Demonstrated data analysis skills using Pivot Tables, Power Pivot; experience with R/RStudio, SPSS/SPSS Syntax is a definite asset
- Experience conducting surveys using Qualtrics, Survey Monkey or Lime Survey
- Demonstrated ability to produce timely, reliable, and accurate analytics and reports.
- Extremely high level of attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities, meet deadlines with mínimal supervision, follow instructions, and maintain confidentiality.
- Must possess a client-service orientation.
