**Job Posting: Accounting Technician**

Our accounting technician position performs a variety of accounting tasks in order to serve the financial needs of our diverse client base. Efficiency is essential in the preparation of working paper files including financial statements, personal tax returns, and corporate tax returns. Attention to detail is vital for this work as this position performs client bookkeeping, tax data entry, and the preparation of other government forms.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed to professionally interact with our clients, Canada Revenue Agency representatives, as well as in collaboration with others in our team environment. Strong computer skills are needed for all responsibilities.

Compensation is based on experience and performance.

This is not a CPA student job.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

- Preparation of working paper files including financial statements for Compilation Engagement, Review Engagement, and Audit Engagements
- Preparation of corporate and personal tax returns and other government forms
- Effectively plan, manage and document work
- Client bookkeeping
- Payroll and HST compliance
- Data input of personal and corporate tax returns
- Provision of supporting documentation to Canada Revenue Agency on behalf of our clients

Ideal Qualifications and Skills:

- Technical competence, efficiency, and experience with working paper files, financial statements, bookkeeping, and corporate tax preparation
- Co-operative and enthusiastic team player who can work independently
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Conscientious, detail oriented, and eager to learn and develop skills
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word; QuickBooks; Sage; Caseware; Tax Prep
- Experience in a public accounting practice
- Bachelors’ degree, Business College, or Business Administration diploma with Accounting major a significant asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
