**Summary**:
This posting is for the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Maintain the facility and grounds.
- Check and clean washrooms regularly and replenish supplies.
- Collect and set out garbage for collection.
- Clean grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and viewing platform.
- Assist visitors in a helpful and friendly manner.
- Check and report any problems, vandalism, or misuse of the facilities.
- Open & Close Facility and secure alarm systems.
- Set up and tear down of on-site functions.
- Perform other similar and related duties as required.

**Position Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or general educational development (GED) certificate.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and materials.
- Ability to understand simple oral and written instructions and to communicate effectively and clearly with good interpersonal skills.
- Good physical condition.
- Shift and weekend work are required.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and WHMIS certification.
- Proven completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness training.
- A demonstrated commitment to enhancing a safety culture.

**CUPE 1287 Pay Group 1 **- $19.28 to $22.04 per hour

**Expected Work Location**: St Catharines Museum and Welland Canal Centre

**Hours of Work**:up to 24 hours per week
