Join our team as an Accessible Transit Driver This is an exciting opportunity for a customer focused individual that is driven by the need to help others. **Reports to**: Client Services Manager **Probationary salary**: $18.00 per hour + Incentive Pay **Full Time salary**: $19.00 per hour + Incentive Pay **Position Summary**: - Transport clients to-&-from appointments using company vehicles & other duties assigned. - Being responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles, safety of all passengers and respect for other users of the road. - Responsible for daily vehicle safety inspection and reports any deficiencies to supervisor - Providing high quality customer service - Maintaining and adhering to schedules and abiding by _Highway Traffic Act, _policies, and procedures. Documenting incidents and reporting to supervisor. - Represents Accessible Care Transit in a positive and professional manner - Exceptional face to face customer service - Effective listener and communicator with a positive attitude - Personable and respectful of others - Resourceful - Resilient when faced with difficult situations - Calm under pressure, patient - Effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills - Able to work all shifts, variable hours, including weekends and statutory holidays. - Must be comfortable driving during hours all hours, especially between dusk-to-dawn and all weather and traffic conditions. **To help us learn more about you, please submit your resume describing how you meet the following requirements.** **Selection Criteria**: - Completed Grade 12 education or equivalent - Possession of a valid non-probationary Ontario Class "G" Driver's License in good standing. - 2-years of strong face to face customer service skills as demonstrated through previous work experience. - 5-year Auto Insurance Experience (Must NOT have any At-fault accidents in the last 10 years). - Must be able to provide a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3). - Must be able to possess an Emergency First Aid and CPR Class “C” Certificate. - Must be able to provide a passing Doctor’s Medical Screening/Fitness & functional abilities evaluation. **Additional Qualifications**: - Previous driving experience an asset. - In-depth knowledge of streets and locations within the Region of Peel & surrounding areas. - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service. - Able to read, understand, follow written rules & procedures along with verbal instructions. - An exceptional ability to communicate effectively with a positive attitude and overcome difficult and tense customer interactions. - Able to handle physical demands of the job. Able to work outside & in all weather conditions - The nature of the job requires the incumbent to be physically able to assist clients, Lift, Push and Shift body weight, fold walkers and wheelchairs and place in the vehicle, and assist with grocery shopping bags. - Strong time management and organizational skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. - Experience working with children, frail and elderly individuals. - Able to wear required personal protective equipment and use appropriate safety equipment to complete job tasks in a safe manner.
