**Position Location**: Northwoods, North Vancouver

We are looking for a Meat Clerk to join our team. The focus of this role is to help customers by answering product related questions, taking orders, selecting, weighing, pricing and wrapping meat products. Further responsibilities include managing the displays by removing expiring meat products, labeling goods according to their prices and specifications, maintain storage, and ensure that all health standards and protocols and followed.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Assist customers with meat product information to assist with purchasing decisions
- Package, weigh, and price customer orders
- Clean and maintain specialty knives and equipment
- Provide customers with information about different types and cuts of meat, cooking methods, and preparation techniques
- Maintain display cases to health and safety standards with proper product rotation
- Ensure the store is clean, safe and ready for shoppers
- Rotation, loading and unloading of meat department product
- Stock and replace products to avoid any damages
- Backroom and inventory management
- Assist the department with regular inventory count
- Assist with other departmental functions which include but are not limited to rotating, stocking, cleaning and maintaining the appearance and organization of the store
- Performs other related duties as assigned

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Proven customer service or retail experience is a plus
- Great attention to detail
- Good communication and people skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

**Education and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Comfortable working in a cold environment (coolers and freezers)
- Comfortable working with raw meat products

**Hourly Rate**:
$17.15/hour starting wage (plus shift premiums as applicable)
